WHY PSYCHOTHERAPY?

Life presents challenges to everyone. When the road is difficult a helping hand can provide much needed support.  Working with a licensed therapist can help an individual meet life challenges as well as provide a positive experience for personal growth. The therapeutic journey is an opportunity to enhance self- understanding and satisfaction and lead to a fuller, more enjoyable life.  Feeling more self assured, improving self-esteem, enhancing communication, relationship and social skills, reducing depression and anxiety are goals that individuals often realize via  psychotherapy, as well as a deeper satisfaction with body, mind and spirit.

TREATMENT

Treatment modalities include focused short- term intervention, insight oriented therapy, psychodynamic, guided imagery and yoga therapy.

GUIDED IMAGERY
G
uided imagery is a method used to access  the power of the mind and unconscious toward self  healing. The therapist guides the individual via systematic relaxation and visualization, assisting the client to form his or her own healing images.  Guided imagery differs from hypnosis as the client enjoys a sense of participation and control in their own healing process, and is free to interact with the guide at any time.  The knowledge and insight gained is generated from ones images that contain  sensory qualities and use of imagination.  Guided imagery is used to alleviate symptoms for numerous problems including trauma recovery, preparation for and recovery from surgery, utilizing the body mind connection to enhance medical treatment for cancer and other diseases, anxiety and depression, grief recovery, anger management, chemical dependency, weight loss and management, sleep disorders as well as to enhance general health and well-being
